Installer technical FAQ
Can car wash chemicals damage my headlights?
Installer support covering lens-film protection, limitations, preparation, maintenance and customer education.
It is easy to assume that plastic headlight lenses are immune to damage from car wash chemicals. This belief is incorrect because certain harsh cleaning agents, bug removers, and industrial soaps can chemically react with the lens surface, leading to stress marks, haziness, or brittleness. This chemical damage is often permanent and disrupts the clarity of the light. MOD5 TopShield headlight protection film provides a chemically resistant surface that creates a barrier, preventing these aggressive substances from making direct contact with the sensitive lens material beneath during washes.
