Trade access & supply
Who MOD5 supplies and how to start a direct wholesale conversation.
Who can apply for MOD5 trade access?
Professional PPF and wrap installers, tint shops, established detailers adding film services, dealerships, fleet businesses and specialist automotive businesses can apply. MOD5 reviews the business, relevant experience and intended product use before approving trade access.
Does MOD5 sell directly to private vehicle owners?
No. MOD5 is a wholesale supplier and does not take private vehicle installation bookings. Approved installers manage the customer relationship, quote and installation.
Does MOD5 supply trade partners across Australia?
Yes. MOD5 supplies approved trade partners across Australia from Williamstown North, Victoria.
What happens after I submit a trade application?
MOD5 reviews your business, installation experience and product interests, then contacts you to discuss the most suitable range, samples and next step. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
Samples & evaluation
What to test before you decide whether a film belongs in your workshop.
Can I request samples before opening a trade account?
Yes. You can submit a sample request while discussing or applying for trade access. MOD5 reviews each request so the sample selection matches your business and the work you plan to offer.
What should my team evaluate in a trade sample?
Test the characteristics that affect your result and installation time: initial tack, slide, repositioning, stretch and recovery, edge behaviour, surface finish, optical appearance and fit with your normal workflow.
Should we test MOD5 film with our usual tools and process?
Yes. A useful sample test should reflect the way your team actually works. Use a suitable test panel or application, follow the relevant product guidance and judge how the film behaves with your normal tools and process.
Can I request samples from more than one product range?
Yes. The sample request form lets you select multiple ranges. Tell MOD5 what your business currently installs and which products you want to evaluate; each request is reviewed before samples are supplied.
Paint protection film
Compare clear, satin, matte and colour TPU films before you build the quote.
Which MOD5 PPF suits which type of job?
Choose clear PPF when the factory paint appearance should stay in view, satin or matte PPF for a reversible finish change with protection, and colour PPF when the customer wants restyling and TPU protection in one installation.
What clear PPF thicknesses are available?
MOD5 clear TPU PPF is available in 7.5, 8.5 and 10.5 mil options. Choose the format around the protection requirement and application, then test a sample before adding it to your range.
What does self-healing mean on MOD5 PPF?
The heat-activated surface is designed to help light surface marks recover during normal care. Self-healing does not repair deep cuts, punctures or impact damage through the film.
How long is MOD5 PPF covered?
Clear PPF has coverage of up to 10 years, satin and matte PPF has 7-year coverage, and colour PPF has coverage of up to 8 years. The exact product, installation and care requirements, conditions and exclusions apply.
Automotive window film
Compare VLT, UV rejection and non-metallic construction around the vehicle in front of you.
What VLT options are available?
The MOD5 nano-ceramic range includes visible-light-transmission options from 5% to 70%, covering dark privacy applications through to lighter installations.
Will nano-ceramic film interfere with phone, GPS or toll signals?
The non-metallic construction is designed to avoid the signal interference associated with metallic films, including interference with common phone, GPS and toll-system signals.
How much UV rejection does the range provide?
The MOD5 nano-ceramic automotive window film range provides up to 99% UV rejection, depending on the selected product.
Which VLT is legal for the vehicle?
Legal VLT depends on the state or territory, glazing position, vehicle and application. The installer and vehicle owner must confirm the requirements that apply before installation; MOD5 does not represent every VLT as legal in every location or position.
Specialist protection film
Check the product and application limits before offering lens or windscreen protection.
Where can headlight protection film be applied?
MOD5 headlight protection film can be used on suitable headlights, taillights, fog lights, daytime running lights and selected lighting surfaces. The installer should confirm surface and application suitability before installation.
What is the difference between clear and smoke headlight film?
Both options use 6.0 mil TPU film. Clear is intended for discreet lens protection; smoke changes the appearance as well as adding a protective layer. Legal and application suitability must be checked before using smoke film.
Why is KPU windscreen film different from body PPF?
MOD5 windscreen protection film is a glass-specific, optical-grade KPU film with a 7.5 mil (190 micron) format, 7H hard coat and self-healing surface. It is designed for windscreen installation rather than painted body panels.
How is KPU windscreen protection film installed?
It uses a window-tint-style installation method. Experienced installers should request a sample and evaluate the film's handling, optical finish and fit with their existing windscreen process before offering it to customers.
Warranty & compliance
What installers should confirm before quoting coverage or legal suitability.
What product warranties apply across the MOD5 range?
Current product coverage is up to 10 years for clear PPF, 7 years for satin and matte PPF, up to 8 years for colour PPF, a lifetime limited warranty for nano-ceramic window film, 1 year for headlight protection film and 2 years for KPU windscreen protection film. Product-specific terms apply.
What can I promise a customer about warranty?
Only quote the coverage stated in the relevant product terms. Review the conditions, exclusions, installation requirements and care requirements before making a warranty promise, and contact MOD5 if anything is unclear.
Is MOD5 KPU windscreen film ADR-approved for public-road use?
No. MOD5 KPU windscreen protection film is not currently ADR-approved for public-road use. It is presented for track, competition and off-road applications, and the installer and vehicle owner remain responsible for confirming the requirements that apply.
Who is responsible for confirming legal suitability?
The installer and vehicle owner must confirm the laws and regulations that apply to the vehicle, glazing position and proposed product. Product availability is not legal approval, particularly for VLT choices, smoke lighting film and windscreen protection film.
