Installer technical FAQ

Does a darker window tint block more heat from entering my car?

Installer education covering PPF construction, limitations, care, failure modes and customer expectation setting.

Although many people assume that the darker a window tint is, the more heat it blocks, in reality, visible darkness does not directly correlate with heat rejection. Some deeply hued films primarily reduce glare and visible light. Conversely, MOD5 TopShield window tint films are engineered to manage solar energy effectively, meaning they can provide significant cabin comfort regardless of their apparent darkness. The engineering of the film, not just its visual opacity, determines its ability to keep the interior cooler.
