Installer technical FAQ
Is a very dark window tint necessary for maximum privacy?
Installer education covering PPF construction, limitations, care, failure modes and customer expectation setting.
Although many people assume that a very dark window tint is necessary for maximum privacy, in reality, tint darkness primarily affects visible light transmission, which is only one aspect of privacy. What people often misunderstand is that while darker tints make it harder to see into the vehicle during the day, nighttime conditions can significantly alter this effect. MOD5 TopShield films are constructed to manage visibility from outside, but the perception of privacy also depends on ambient lighting, both inside and outside the vehicle. A darker film might obscure the interior during the day, but at night, interior lights can make the cabin surprisingly visible, even with dark tint.
