Installer technical FAQ

Can I get effective heat rejection without extremely dark window tint?

Installer education covering film construction, solar-performance measures, limitations, care and customer questions.

Although many people assume effective heat rejection requires extremely dark window tint, in reality, a film's ability to manage cabin temperature is separate from its visible appearance. MOD5 TopShield window tint films are designed to provide a comfortable interior environment regardless of how dark they look from the outside. The technologies used within the film construction influence how well heat is managed, allowing for clear windows that still reduce cabin warmth. Therefore, choosing a lighter film does not mean sacrificing a comfortable interior experience; it simply means the film achieves its purpose through different means than visible light reduction.
