Installer technical FAQ

Is it possible to remove factory tint if I don't like it or it gets damaged?

Installer education covering film construction, solar-performance measures, limitations, care and customer questions.

Although many people assume that factory tint can be removed or replaced from car windows, in reality, factory tint is not a film applied to the glass surface. Instead, it is a characteristic of the glass itself, achieved by altering the glass composition during its creation. This means the tint colour is part of the glass, making it impossible to 'remove' or 'peel off'. If a factory tinted window is damaged or its appearance is undesirable, the entire glass panel must be replaced, which is a different process compared to the professional removal and reapplication of MOD5 TopShield window tint films.
