Installer technical FAQ
Is headlight film only for protecting against stone chips?
Installer support covering lens-film protection, limitations, preparation, maintenance and customer education.
A common assumption among car owners is that headlight protection film is solely designed to guard against significant impacts like stone chips. This assumption is false because the primary benefit of MOD5 TopShield headlight protection film extends far beyond large impacts to include microscopic physical damage. Everyday driving exposes headlights to constant bombardment from dust, grit, and small airborne particles. Over time, these create cumulative micro-abrasions and pitting that progressively dull the lens surface, reducing its clarity and light output. TopShield films are engineered to absorb these smaller, frequent impacts. This understanding allows car owners to prioritize protection against the full spectrum of physical wear, not just isolated incidents.
