Installer technical FAQ

Can headlight protection film hide existing scratches or yellowing on my headlights?

Installer support covering lens-film protection, limitations, preparation, maintenance and customer education.

Car owners often assume that applying headlight protection film can cover up or somehow 'fix' existing scratches, yellowing, or other blemishes on their headlight lenses. This assumption is false; MOD5 TopShield headlight protection film is a transparent, protective layer designed to preserve the condition of a clear, undamaged headlight. It does not possess restorative properties. Any imperfections present on the headlight surface before film application will still be visible, and in some cases, might even be accentuated by the film's clarity. For optimal results, headlights should be in excellent condition before the film is applied. This understanding helps car owners plan for necessary surface preparation before applying film.
