Many people assume that MOD5 TopShield paint protection films prevent all types of paint scratching. This is a misunderstanding. While TopShield films are constructed to offer significant resistance against common forms of abrasion and light scratches that occur during daily use, they cannot prevent all types of paint scratching. Deep, sharp impacts from objects, deliberate scoring, or major accidents can still cause damage that penetrates the film and reaches the paint surface underneath. The film acts as a sacrificial barrier, protecting against the majority of superficial damage, but it does not create an impervious shield against every possible scratching incident.
