Installer technical FAQ

Does window tint only reduce glare, or does it also manage cabin heat?

Installer education covering film construction, solar-performance measures, limitations, care and customer questions.

Although many people assume window tint primarily reduces glare and that heat management is a secondary or absent feature, in reality, MOD5 TopShield window tint films are engineered to address both aspects differently. While a darker appearance will naturally reduce visible glare, the unique construction of the film is what actively works to manage the heat that enters the cabin. Glare reduction and heat management are distinct functions, achieved through different mechanisms within the film. A tint designed for comfort will manage heat effectively, even if its glare reduction is modest, leading to a more pleasant driving experience over time.
