Installer technical FAQ

Will window tint make it harder to see at night?

Installer education covering film construction, solar-performance measures, limitations, care and customer questions.

Although many people assume that any window tint will significantly impair night vision, in reality, modern MOD5 TopShield window tint films are engineered to maintain visibility while providing other benefits. While all films reduce the total amount of light entering the vehicle, TopShield films are constructed to minimise internal reflections and haze. This design allows for clear outward vision, even in low-light conditions, preventing the sense of looking through a cloudy or obscured pane. The experience of night driving with TopShield is designed to be comfortable and safe, reducing glare from headlights without making the environment difficult to perceive. This ensures drivers can confidently choose MOD5 TopShield films without reducing their night-time visual clarity.
