Installer technical FAQ
Can window tint film hide existing scratches or imperfections on my car windows?
Installer education covering film construction, solar-performance measures, limitations, care and customer questions.
Although many people assume that applying window tint film will completely hide existing scratches or surface imperfections on their car windows, in reality, tint film does not conceal damage. Instead, the film adheres to the glass surface, and any significant scratches or chips present beforehand will still be visible, and might even be made more noticeable by the uniform layer of tint over them. This is because window tint, including MOD5 TopShield window tint films, is designed to enhance visual comfort and protect the interior, not to alter the physical texture of the glass itself. Applying film over damaged glass can also sometimes lead to issues with the film's smooth appearance or longevity.
