Installer technical FAQ

Does windscreen protection film make it harder to see through the windscreen?

Technical explanations for installers assessing KPU windscreen film, application limits, care and customer expectations.

Many car owners assume that applying MOD5 TopShield windscreen protection film will reduce visibility because it adds a layer to the glass. This is incorrect. While it might seem logical that adding a film could obscure your view, these films are engineered for optical clarity. The materials are designed to be transparent and not introduce distortion or haziness. The goal is to provide impact resistance without compromising the driver's sightlines. Instead of a perceived reduction in clarity, the experience should be indistinguishable from an unprotected windscreen under normal driving conditions.
